Proud to contribute to House of the Year success

August, 2012

While I’ve won a number of individual lighting design awards, I’m just as proud to have been part of a building team that walked away with two accolades from this year’s Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition.

Honeybone Builders won a Gold Award in the Canterbury new home section for a house in the Christchurch suburb of Fendalton. I’ve been part of Brian Honeybone’s team before and I’m delighted to have contributed to his success. Brian is a great builder and an excellent craftsman.

The lighting of the home was an important element in the design, functionality and style criteria for the judges. As always, the whole aim of the project from my perspective was to create the right feel in the home. I’m pleased to see the judges liked the result.

Brian’s success didn’t end there. The same property won the “Future Proof Building Energy Efficiency Award.” Lighting is always an important criteria in such categories, so I’m also proud to have also contributed to this accolade with an LED lighting solution. Energy Efficiency is a major interest of mine and something I take into account with all of my lighting projects.
