Bolt of Cloth (Christchurch fabric retailer)

October, 2010

This job had two focuses. Firstly it was to create a comfortable and warm atmosphere for people wanting to purchase products with a huge colour range. The second focus was to create a homely feel so the customers could almost sense they were in their own homes. This was important because we wanted them to feel how the fabrics would fit into their own environments.

One of the ways we achieved this was through the use of a special type of lamp.

The result was stunning. The feeling in the store is beautiful and this is felt by visitors as they walk in. It has the homely feel we wanted, and makes visitors feel special before they even get to the fabrics.

The owners were fantastic to work with. Their confidence in me and their recognition of the importance of quality fittings made this job a rewarding one for me.

Tom Powell from Designability and Millers were instrumental in the success of the job. The team approach was a major reason the project was so successful and the clients were delighted with the result.
